EFFECTS OF QUALITY OF WORK LIFE BALANCE ON EMPLOYEE PRODUCTIVITY (A STUDY OF SELECTED DEPOSIT MONEY BANKS IN ABA, ABIA STATE, NIGERIA)

Abstract:
This study examined the effect of quality of work life balance on employee productivity of selected banks in Aba, Abia State The research adopted the survey research design, using simple random sampling techniques, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. A total number of one hundred and sixty-five (165) questionnaires were issued out by the researcher to the staff and customers of UBAplc. and First bank plc. The coefficient of determination R-square of 0.892 implied that 89.2% of the sample variation in the dependent variable degree of relationship between employee's job stress 2 and organizational performance of UBA bank and First bank plc. The value of the adjusted R is 0.890. This showed that the regression line which captured 89.0% of the total variation in degree of relationship between employee's job stress and organizational performance of UBA bank and First bank plc. The F-statistic was also used to test the overall significant of the model. The F-value of 612.535 is an indication that the model is statistically significant at 5 percent level of significant at degree of freedom df1= 2 and df2= 149. The calculated t-statistics of 7.852 was greater than the critical value (i.e.1.962), the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative accepted. This means that there was positive and significant relationship between employee's job stress and organizational performance of UBAbank and First bank plc. Aba. From the analysis, the findings indicated that: (1) there was relationship between qualities of work life balance on employee's productivity of UBAbank and First bank Aba, Abia state. (2) There was an influence of employee's job stress on organizational performance of UBAbank and First bank plc. Aba, Abia state.
