Abstract:
The paper proposes a methodology of integrated estimate, monitoring and analysis of the quality and degree of ecological sustainability of the region environment based on the factor analysis approach. It is then demonstrated on the example of the Mari El Republic. The results allow studying the dynamics of the integrated ecological indicator(s), determining problematic places, identifying the main directions in improving ecological policy of the region and, finally, forecasting the ecological situation
