An Individual’s Position in the Society: A Socio-Economic Approach
Julia Krelberg
Applied Econometrics, 2007, vol. 5, issue 1, 75-100
Abstract:
In the work we consider the problem of reproduction of three components of an individual’s position in the society — cultural and economic capitals, as well as the position in authority-professional hierarchy. The paper is based on the method of analysis, worked out by a group of researchers under the direction of O. Shkaratan in the end of 70s. The results of all-Russian survey conducted by Sheregy’s Centre of Social Forecast in 2002 serve as the empirical basis of the work.
