Abstract:
The work examines the relationship between climate policies implemented in different countries and the pace of economic development during the 2000–2020 period. We consider the potential presence of a two-way relationship between indicators. We also analyze the possibility of using emission growth or reduction rates as an indicator of climate policy rigidity. Our paper proposes alternative indicators for modeling the impact pf climate policy on a country’s economic development. The paper applies a dynamic panel data model estimated with system generalized method of moments.
