The Effect of Maritime Tarnsport on Some Economic Indicators in Turkey

Abstract:
In this study, whether the number of ships departing and arriving in Turkish ports has effect on industrial production index and total trade (the sum of import and export) was investigated by regression analysis between 2004-2010 years. According to the results obtained, the increase of the number of ship transportation in Turkey creates a positive and statistically significant effect on industrial production index and total trade.
