Economic Impacts of Korea-Chile FTA and Its Implications to Korean Economy

Abstract:
There has been great progress for the Korea-Chile free trade agreement (FTA). During the 1999 Auckland APEC Leaders meeting, leaders of both economy announced that the two countries would begin official negotiations for the FTA between two countries. Following leaders announcement, the first negotiation was made in Santiago December 1999. This paper discusses the backgrounds of Koreas FTA policy, and analyzes the economic effects of the FTA on Korean economy.
