Abstract: This paper reviews John Cornwall’s last book on capitalistic countries economic breakdown beginning in the early 1970s, after a period of approximately two decades of sustained growth. Keynesian stimulating demand policies are recommended for recovery, together with a « second generation » income policy as a necessary tool against their adverse inflationary effects.
