Abstract:
This article proposes an analysis of some problems related to the systems of public finance in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean with left-oriented government, particularly the issues of: the primary surplus, resource desaffectations and tax policy in Brazil; the neutralization of the experiences of social struggles through public spending in Argentina; the debt audits in Ecuador; the nationalization of natural resources in Bolivia; the new forms of planning in Venezuela; the control over market mechanisms in Cuba; as well as the various dimensions of the current processes of alternative regionalisations.
