Abstract:
Transforming raw data into information and then to intelligence is crucial to effective business strategy and can add substantial value to business operations. In the rapidly changing financial services environment, higher decision intelligence enables optimum use of capital and impacts profitability. As regulators scrutinize data integrity, and Basel II imposes capital charges commensurate with the capabilities and efficacy of risk systems, technology capabilities merit concern at the highest levels of the organization. Through its emerging Business Service Model (BSM), Deutsche Bank is seeking to prove that the intelligent and innovative use of data can be a key differentiator. Contrary to the widely accepted view, the measure of success should not be data delivery alone, but the ongoing consumption of data by business users, which can be accelerated by the refinement of data and its delivery based on users’ experience.
