Abstract:
This paper presents the results of the empirical valuation of the innovation process in the establishment of tourist accommodation in the State of Michoacan, Mexico. And be done with the method designed and proposed by the authors in previous publications. The results identified three types of firms, the innovative, those with innovative media and non-innovative, considering their innovation indicators and the productivity and utility. The evidence presented to conclude that the policy of encouraging innovation in this industry in the state, has given poor results and that the successful innovation process is concentrated in a minority of companies considered large, highly productive, with the highest utility levels.
