Abstract: This paper analyzes the use of systems dynamics methods in economics and management sciences. It is assumed in this paper that these phenomena can be understood as non-linear and complex systems. The steps needed to develop a system dynamics model are analyzed. Particularly, in this paper, the case of technology change and the development of innovation processes exemplify the use of this approach in economics and management sciences. Finally, the paper briefly reviews some works in relation to these issues, highlighting the most important features that characterize these analyses in the literature on technology change and innovation developments.
