Abstract:
This study analyzes electricity prices and consumption patterns in the European Union, emphasizing the disparities between household and non-household sectors. Using data collected from EUROSTAT, the paper highlights how geopolitical tensions, market dynamics, and energy policies influence electricity costs and usage trends. The findings reveal significant regional variations shaped by energy infrastructure, economic conditions, and policy frameworks. For instance, countries with high renewable energy adoption experience elevated costs, while those relying on conventional energy maintain lower prices. The analysis underscores the interplay between affordability, sustainability, and energy security, offering insights into the complexities of EU electricity markets. Recommendations aim to foster equitable, efficient, and resilient energy systems.
