USING “GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE” CONCEPT IN ADAPTING CITIES TO CLIMATE CHANGE

Abstract: The increasing level of urbanization, the general trend of extensive development of the modern cities, the urban population growth, the irational management of the land and the changes of climate have caused major problems to the capacity of stormwater collection centralized system in urban areas. In this context, specialists such as engineers, architects, landscape designers, and so on, are working togheter to identify innovative solutions for stormwater managament, accrording to the sustainable development policies. This approach has led to changing perception on traditional infrastructure planning, in order to appear concepts like „Green infrastructure”.
