Choosing aeration system for activated sludge biological treatment

Abstract: To select a specific design for the treatment plant that uses activated sludge treatment depends on many factors, like the number of population for which the treatment plant deserves. Also it must be taken into consideration the economical factor for the performance of the diffusers, and for removal, treatment and disposal of excess sludge. In this article the steps form the aeration system are explained among revealing the advantages and disadvantages for using an activated sludge process for wastewater treatment.
