HIDROTECHNICAL SCHOOL'S CONTRIBUTION FROM TIMISOARA TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM IN ROMANIA

Abstract:
The paper are highlighted contributions of Hidrotechnical School from Timisoara, on the quantitative and qualitative changes that may occur both in networks for distribution of drinking water and in the leakage water sewage, due to reduced specific consumption of drinking water by far below the allowed limit of 150 l / person.day, needed to provide optimal conditions for life, health, hygiene and environmental comfort in population centers. Auto contamination or depreciation of quality of drinking water supplied to consumers through pipelines HDPE can occur when water residence exceeded during 7 days in underground pipes and 2 days at the ground, to which we can provide by the transfer of some existing toxic microelements in the material pipes used to transport water. To combat these shortfalls are proposed the following measures: distribution through pipes system of a water with high stability / bio stable; weekly opening of fire exterior hydrants for washing deposits and renewal of the water; arrangement of public fountains with continuous or intermittent operation. In case of sewage networks, wastewater household transport is disturbed not only by sedimentation due to reduced flow rates, but also by toxic gases / combustible resulting from the anaerobic digestion of organic mass, with harmful and explosive effects for both maintenance personnel as and the environment. These phenomena can be reduced and even eliminated through the use of gravitational collectors of PVC with DN pa).
