Municipal sludge treatment technologies achivement and perspective

Constantin Damian and Ioana Bercu

Romaqua, 2016, vol. 111, issue 5, 35-46

Abstract: In recent years, the need to achieve a sustainable sludge treatment and management strategy has become more and more important, due to the restriction (in some cases legal banning), of final disposal options. This paper presents a few effective and innovative technologies that can minimise the amount of sludge produced by the WWTP. Romanian WWTPs are used as study cases. The paper is divided into 2 parts: accopplishments and perspectives (strategies) in sludge treatment.
