Abstract: The burgeoning gastronomy tourism sector has witnessed an uptick in workplace accidents, exacerbating concerns about the safety of workers, especially those new to the commercial kitchen environment. Their lack of experience often translates into difficulty in identifying and addressing potential hazards. An acceptance test was conducted in response to this pressing issue. This evaluation aimed to gauge the effectiveness of a straightforward yet immersive simulation, the Kitchen Safety Virtual Tour Hazard Identification Training Tools (VT-HiTT), in assessing and mitigating risks within kitchen settings. The validation process, conducted by commercial kitchen experts, emphasized the transformative potential of Virtual Reality (VR) technology in fortifying safety protocols across the hospitality sector. Moreover, incorporating quantitative assessments provided valuable insights into the broader acceptance of VR among professionals while recognizing the inherent limitations of purely qualitative approaches. The overwhelmingly positive feedback underscores VR's promising trajectory in augmenting workplace safety standards. Considering these encouraging findings, policymakers are strongly encouraged to integrate VR seamlessly into safety training initiatives explicitly tailored for commercial kitchens. Such proactive measures will undoubtedly contribute to effectively mitigating risks and fostering a robust safety culture throughout the gastronomy sector.
