Abstract: The most important for the constitutional structure of the Russian government, certainly looks the amendment to increase the presidential term from four to six years. It is this rule will be subject to review in this article. As is known, in 2008, elections were held the third president of the Russian Federation for 17 years of existence of this post. The previous two were in the position of president, respectively, 8.5 and 8 years old. Boris Yeltsin was elected the President of Russia in the USSR in 1991 for a period of 5 years, in 1996 he was re-elected for a four year term in accordance with the new constitution, and six months before the expiry announced his resignation. Vladimir Putin was twice elected to four-year terms.
