Abstract: The article in question is one of the key tenets of institutional economics - the stability of informal institutions and their possible only evolutionary changes. For the analysis of the phenomenon and the effects of the destruction of informal institutions used the tools of sociological theory, which recognizes that the period of intense urbanization characterized by anomie - a situation beznormiya the destruction of traditional institutions and unformed new city. Possible options for the reaction of communities and individuals in the situation of anomie, including a compensatory mechanism, as an ideology. On the Republic Dagestan example shows how to spread the ideology of Islamic fundamentalism is associated with a state of anomie, and what consequences this may result from an institutional point of view. Analysis of the situation in the Republic of Dagestan is based on years of field research conducted in the region.
