Abstract:
Although the individual operations of leasing large equipment made in the Soviet Union, as a new leasing business and the type of financing appeared in Russia only at the beginning of 90th. The founders of most leasing companies are commercial banks, as the main motive for the use of leasing schemes - the possibility of significant tax savings. However, legal uncertainty, which lasted until the mid-1990s, holding back the development of leasing. By the mid-1990s, the government, to assess the potential of leasing and its benefits for the economic development of the country, it took a number of decisions aimed at supporting the leasing sector. As a result, new companies appeared on the market: the financial and industrial groups have created their own for the modernization of production capacities. One of the first major companies rated the advantages of this financing scheme was "Gazprom". "When leasing apply accelerated depreciation of equipment, which makes this kind of financing is preferable to such traditions tional ways of acquiring about ment as direct purchase or lending," - so usually explained in the press service of "Gazprom" interest in this type of activity.
