Abstract:
In works on political and legal philosophy, presented different views on the role of government in people's lives. For supporters of the liberal (legal) state, this role consists in securing equal opportunities for all mandatory standards to ensure the freedom of the individual. These regulations prohibit any attempt on the life, health and the private property of individuals. For supporters of the socialist (social) state the rules of life in society are of secondary importance. With their help, the government must ensure the achievement of certain social and economic results. These results may be determined through a description of the situation of individuals, groups of individuals, industries or even the indicator "total social welfare".
