Abstract:
The economic development of Russia in the first five years of the XXI century has revived hopes for the restoration of its leading position in the world largely lost in the transition from a centrally planned management to market methods of regulation. Gross domestic product increased during this time and a half times, and tight fiscal policy of the state has allowed to provide independence from foreign borrowing and to create sufficient budgetary and foreign exchange reserves in order to minimize the risks of future financial crises.
