Abstract:
In this issue of the magazine reprinted article "The current stock market mayhem", dedicated to the analysis of the first stock exchange crisis in Russia, which took place 140 years ago - in 1869. One has this circumstance to justify such a publication. However, this work is very interesting in itself - it contains a profound analysis of the causes and course of the crisis, which would have done honor to the modern researcher. Another interesting fact that the author of this work - certainly a first-class economist - is still unknown. This work is almost self-sufficient, but for a better understanding of it, we found it useful to precede the publication of its small section, where explanations are given a number of historical realities, as well as commentary and analysis of the events that contemporaries called "exchange pogrom."
