Particular Requirements for Institutional Analysis in Nature-Related Sectors

Abstract: Economists farmers face considerable difficulties when trying to find within the institutional theory of conceptual approaches, specifically analyzing the problems of interaction with the natural systems, and above all the management issues and conservation in agriculture, forestry, fisheries and horticulture. As part of the institutional theory, there are at least two major trends, which emphasize the importance of the supporters of biophysical and technical features. Theory of transaction costs, argues that the transaction, including its physical aspect, "is the basic unit of analysis ...". As underlined by O. Williamson and E. Ostrom, the nature of the impact of rules and regulations on the behavior of actors in turn, "is influenced by the biophysical properties and the material world as an object of human activity."
