Abstract: The article analyzes the practice of assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of the implementation of government programs in the Russian Federation and directions for its improvement. In particular, it is proposed in addition to the calculation of the extent to which indicators to take into account the dynamics of the index calculation on the basis of the impact of government programs and its correlation with the level of funding. The proposed approach to the evaluation of government programs are approved on the basis of data on the implementation of state programs in 2014, which made it possible to identify the state of the program, the cost of implementing that meet performance criteria: the high degree of achievement of performance indicators is provided savings of budgetary resources.
