Abstract: The book "Russia: a long time" by Yegor Gaidar is a broad cross section of economic history from the Neolithic to the present day. Over the past few years several similar books has been published , but none of them combines the Marxist dialect and specific vision of Russia's inside . And today I would like to focus on what is vision combined with the Marxist tradition has to offer economists and economic historians. The book on the Russian perspective resembles one of those cards in the center depicting the country which has published a map. This perspective has its advantages, as the Russian history is characterized by internal consistency, which provides a unique look at the history of economic development, which in turn allows you to look at the long-known idea from a new perspective.
