The gravity model of foreign trade in Russia: the case of a large area of the country with the longest border

Abstract: The article presents the results of theoretical development and empirical verification of the spatial gravity model of trade in Russia. The authors conclude that the spatial variables and especially the geographic location of the state border crossing points have a significant impact on the volume and routes of Russian imports.
