"Fundamental" theorem of privatization: ideology, evolution, practice

Abstract:
This article analyzes the evolution of modern theoretical approaches to the problem of choosing the optimal ownership and appropriate assessment of privatization in the context of the advantages and disadvantages of public and private sectors. Different interpretations of the "fundamental" theorem of privatization - through relationships "principal-agent", a comparison of the structure of information flows, the combination of property rights and contract rights, consideration of socio-political factors, and others. Recent developments in the Russian policy of denationalization 2010-2013 is analyzed in the context of "reluctantly pursued privatization" and asymmetry processes of nationalization and privatization.
