Abstract: The article analyzes the current procedure for calculation of the retirement pension for old age ("pension formula"), on the basis of which shows the ambiguity and opacity of the current pension formula. Dispelling the myth that the current pension formula allows anyone to easily calculate the size of their pension. The paper proposes a set of measures aimed at improving the efficiency of the pension system, strengthening its stimulating effect on the behavior of the insured on the basis of increasing the transparency of the procedure for calculating pensions under the new pension formula, which will come into effect from 2015.
