Abstract: The new pension formula, which is aimed to strengthen the balance of solidarity pension system includes a number of innovations, including the enhancement of the role of seniority and promotion of a late application for a pension. The article on empirical data of representative sociological survey of the population analyzed the ratio of different social groups to the new rules, the appointment of labor pension and assessed the prospects for development of sustainable patterns of employment and retirement behavior of the population. It also discusses the prospects of canceling payment of the basic part of labor pensions paid to working pensioners and the introduction of additional individual contributions to a pension on the part of employees.
