Abstract:
This article discusses the relationship between socio-economic development with the values of culture and provides an overview of perspectives on this issue. It is shown that in the current circumstances, the economic theory is the need to expand its subject field, the inclusion of socio-cultural factors that motivate economic behavior and impact on economic development. The homo economicus («economic man") model has been criticized as a tool for learning about the world, the focus was on the importance of developing of such a model of human behavior that takes into account the role of non-economic factors and motives in making economic decisions, cultural background of the individual.
