Abstract: Article is devoted to study of the effect of informal employment in the sustainability of the pension system in Russia. The estimation of the effect of reducing the level of informal employment on the basic parameters of the pension system. The study of the socio-demographic characteristics of the persons involved in informal employment. Recommendations for reducing the level of informal employment in order to improve the sustainability of the pension system.
