Abstract: The article deals with the institutional support of the regional business environment as the basis for successful economic and social development of the region. Using the methodology of the institutional matrix business model analyzes the process of formation of the institutions of the business environment in the region. The conclusion of the determining role of the institutional configuration of the business environment in the existing differences in the levels of socio-economic development of regions. To carry out simulation settings for creating and maintaining a favorable institutional configuration of the business environment in the Russian regions. Proposed methodological tools, which allows regional authorities to calculate the parameters of the formation and maintenance of a favorable institutional configuration of the business environment and on this basis to make rational management decisions.
