Abstract: Mortality from infectious diseases, as a rule, occupies a small share in the structure of mortality of the population of developed countries, however, losses from this class of diseases are concentrated at relatively young ages and entail significant economic costs. From 1990 to 2018, the regions of Russia showed different dynamics of mortality from infectious diseases: some regions managed to reverse the negative growth trend of the studied indicator in the mid-2000s, while in others the growth continues to this day.
