Abstract: Purpose. To disclose the concept of cryptocurrencies, consider the cost indicators and features of investing in electronic money, consider institutional and legal support of cryptocurrencies, as well as ways to increase the attractiveness of investing in electronic money, consider the problems of the world economy associated with cryptocurrencies. Subject of research. The history of the emergence and development of cryptocurrencies, as well as the opportunities provided by electronic payment systems. Methods. Analysis of literature, analysis of legal documentation, as well as the study and synthesis of domestic and foreign practice of financial resources and articles. Results. Practical significance of the scientific article is due to the fact that, despite the foreign experience in the field of cryptocurrency relations, for our country it is still a new direction that can help in solving the problems of investment and legal regulation of non-Fiat electronic money. Scientific novelty. Long-term positive and negative spheres of influence of cryptocurrencies on the world economy are revealed. The specificity of the impact of investment programs on the development of cryptocurrencies and the world economy as a whole.
