Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the situation in the small and medium-sized business sector in the Sverdlovsk region, identify problems that become an obstacle for the development of entrepreneurship in the region, and analyze measures of public support for small and medium-sized businesses. In the furtherance of this goal, the article uses the statistical analysis method and the method of theoretical analysis. The author analyzes the main statistical indicators of small and medium-sized businesses in the Sverdlovsk region, introduced on the websites of FSSS and the Federal Tax Service. A systematic analysis of the legal framework on the issue of state support for entrepreneurship in the region was carried out. The work of the institutes that are part of the business support infrastructure in the territory of the Sverdlovsk region is studied. As a result of this work, the author determined the level of development of small and medium-sized businesses in the Sverdlovsk region and introduced the main trends in its development, evaluated the effectiveness of public policy to support entrepreneurship and identified the problems that limit its development. A number of provisions of the article contain an element of scientific novelty. The possibilities of information systems for business support in the Sverdlovsk region are defined. Practical mechanisms for improving the business environment in the region are formulated.
