Abstract:
Introduction. The article examines certain trends in the reproduction of human potential in the Russian Federation in the context of the digitalization of public life, which is accompanied by the accelerated information dissemination, changing structure of the labor market and knowledge economy development, which requires citizens to possess new skills and expand the practices of interaction with the digital environment. Materials and methods. Based on the data of current statistics and the results of specific sociological studies, the authors analyze the specifics of the use of digital technologies by Russians and the attitude of society to digitalization. Results. Emphasizing the rapid pace of development of the Internet and digital technologies in Russian society, which generally correspond to global trends, the authors note that the growth of digital literacy is mainly associated with a decrease in the proportion of citizens with an initial level of digital literacy. The uneven nature of the spread of digital technologies in different spheres of life is manifested in the fact that digital skills in the field of everyday life, everyday life, and communication are being mastered at the fastest possible pace; thanks to the efforts of the state, digitalization of the education sector has been actively carried out in recent years. On the contrary, the use of digital technologies in political life is minimal. In general, Russian citizens rather positively assess the process of digitalization and most expect positive changes in both the economic and cultural spheres, hoping for an increase in the level and quality of life. As the negative consequences of digitalization, the Russians perceive the destruction of morality and moral degradation, the imposition of standards and values of mass consumption, and the degradation of nature. Conclusions. Special attention is drawn to the fact that over the past decades, Russia has been losing its leadership in the field of human capital and has descended to low positions in a number of international ratings. In particular, such important components of human capital as demographic indicators and educational indicators are declining, which dictates the need to adjust state policy in the field of demographic development and education.
