Abstract: The relevance of the topic. In the context of the «green» transformation of the economy, the formation and implementation of environmental policy at the meso - level is becoming highly relevant, which determines the need for research in the field of conservation of natural ecosystems, taking into account their assimilation potential. Goal . Assessment of the current state of the environment and natural resources at the regional level and the development of practical measures to ensure the effective implementation of the policy of environmentally sustainable development of the territory. Methodology. Methods of logical and comparative analysis of data from modern practice of environmental policy implementation in the subject of the Federation, empirical generalization, a systematic and functional approach to the development of measures to enhance environmental policy. Results and conclusions. The article presents constructive measures proposed to ensure the environmentally (clean) sustainable development of the territory, and also identifies the possibilities of solving environmental problems in the field of environmental protection and rational nature management.
