Abstract: The article analyzes the legal sources, which contain the concepts associated with microfinance organizations and their functional activities. According to the results of the study, it was possible to systematize the main business activities of the subjects under consideration. Among them, the pro-vision of loans before wages, consumer loans and financing of small and medium-sized businesses. Based on the results of the work, the idea of the most typical characteristics of clients of micro-finance organizations is formulated.
