Abstract: In modern conditions, corruption is one of the most dangerous phenomena in institutional terms, which negatively affects the development of all social relations, and is one of the most destructive factors of a systemic nature, significantly complicating the economic and socio-political development of society, ensuring the priority of private interests in the management of complex social processes and undermining public confidence in the government. The sociological approach to understanding the essence of corruption allows expanding the horizons of its scientific study and moving from the analysis of certain criminal aspects to the study of corruption as a socially dangerous and large-scale phenomenon.
