Abstract:
This report provides an overview of the level of political competition in the Rostov region. The aim of the work is to analyze how political competition in the representative branches of Russian regions affects the dynamics of political competition in the Rostov region. To achieve this goal the author will analyze the specifics of the major regions of the Russian Federation, and the elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov region in the period 2008 – 2018. The article will focus on the relationship between the results of political parties in a single electoral district and the final distribution of Deputy Portfolios in the representative body of the Federation. Due to the fact that this indicator should be measured exclusively by quantitative tools, there will be used the mathematical method of the American political scientist Masao Nagayama. Based on the statistical material, we’ll be able to track not only the level of political competition, but also the trends that will determine the vector of development of regional Institute of parliamentarism in the near future.
