Abstract: The tendencies of deepening economic integration are characteristic of both the global economy and national and local economic systems. The institutionalization of economic interaction at the level of the world economy facilitated the simplification of many international economic procedures and the coordination of trade relations between countries. However, at the local level, the region acts as an economic space for both national and international integration. The conceptual basis for building a geo-economic strategy for regional development is to ensure the economic sovereignty of the region, competitiveness and integration into the global economic space.
