Abstract: The study examines the significance of the mechanisms of municipal-private partnership in the context of the regional development of modern Russia. Taking into account the norms of the Russian legislation, representative bodies of municipal government become one of the significant actors of a municipal-private partnership. In this regard, analyzes the approaches to the implementation of public-private interaction on the example of the programs of the parliamentary and non-parliamentary political parties in modern Russia. The author focuses on the fact that the problems of the institute of municipal-private partnership at the federal level are carried out within the framework of the development of conceptual programs for regional development, local government and development of entrepreneurship. The selected political parties represent opposing approaches in the development of state economic policy, focused in one case on strengthening the role of the state apparatus, and in another case of reducing its participation in economic processes. At the same time, the European experience examined in the study speaks of the effective use of the mechanisms of municipal-private partnerships in the framework of various basic approaches, with the appropriate powers of municipal authority.
