Abstract: Improving the functioning of a military organization involves the transformation of its functional structure in order to qualitatively protect the state from new challenges and threats to national security. Social processes in transforming societies are determined by the complication of differentiation of the social structure, the growth of "role pluralism." To describe the level of differentiation of a military organization, its stratification is applied using a functional approach. The article presents the stratification structure of the organization in question, distinguished in accordance with the indicators of military rank, level of education, qualification, power, and military command link. The description of the structural elements of the military social system, indicators of the status of a serviceman is given. The study of the stratification division of the military organization also allows us to characterize the degree of inequality of the social groups of the military collective.
