State and Municipal Management Scholar Notes, 2020, vol. 3, 121-126

Abstract: The article substantiates the role of digital transformation in changing the way a business operates and organizing production through the development of new digital technologies: the Internet of things, new generation wireless networks, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain. Each of them becomes possible due to a sharp increase in computing power and a simultaneous decrease in their cost. The authors concluded that digital technology is radically changing the way research and innovation is conducted, which creates more opportunities for the growth and scaling of startups. For the Russian economy, high-tech business is a key source of economic growth and a driver of digital transformation.
