Abstract:
In the conditions of the development of modern society, terrorism is a phenomenon that operates within the framework of a well-functioning system, in which significant material and spiritual resources are concentrated, aimed at exercising force or psychological influence on the population. As a phenomenon, terrorism is multidimensional, has various forms of manifestation, is flexible and easily adapts to a changing situation, hides behind a different ideology, and often has a religious component. None of the states at the present stage of development is properly protected from the terrorist threat, and the Russian Federation is no exception in this regard. Therefore, countering terrorism on the territory of Russia beyond its borders is one of the most urgent tasks of the Russian state. Countering terrorist threats involves their prevention. Prevention of terrorism is not only the task of the state (and, first of all, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Russian Federation and the anti-terrorism commissions in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation), but to a large extent, this is the task of representatives of civil society. This work depends on the clear position of public and religious associations, individual citizens. In our country, the prevention of terrorist manifestations should be considered as an instrument for establishing civil peace and combining the efforts of Russian citizens in restoring and strengthening the economic and political potential of our country. The article attempts to analyze the main areas of interaction between the National Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Russian Federation and some civil society institutions.
