Abstract: Benchmarking is a widely used research tool for quantitative and qualitative indicators across various industries. Heat supply is one of the most significant sectors at the federal level. At the moment, due to economic, climatic, social and other conditions, the state of the industry in regions may differ significantly. In this regard, an important task is to determine the factors that allow an objective assessment of the state of heat supply in the region. The analysis carried out in the article is aimed at identifying the most problematic areas of existing heat supply systems, which will allow developing measures to reduce their negative impact.
