Abstract:
The article examines the conditions and prerequisites for increasing financial literacy in the context of its obvious discrepancy with the expanding range of services provided and their quality, which limits the ability of the population to use them in business and in everyday life. The article identifies modern qualitative and quantitative approaches to assessing the level of financial literacy, on the basis of which the analysis of financial literacy in various regions of Russia is carried out, identifies those where the level of financial literacy is below the national average. A comparative analysis of financial literacy in Russia and foreign countries is carried out. The main tools for increasing financial literacy are proposed, the role of the state in protecting consumer rights by improving legislation regulating the financial market is determined. The necessity and organizational forms, directions of activity and the dissemination of the experience of the volunteer movement to accelerate the implementation in Russia of the Strategy of Financial Literacy in the Russian Federation for 2017-2023 are shown. The methodology of this research is based on general scientific methods of cognition, on the analysis of statistical data from regions.
