Abstract:
Segmentation and globalization of production systems in the pandemic era transformed trade and economic relations and world trade. Participation in and modernization of global value chains allows developing countries to gradually develop the technological capacity to modernize manufacturing and expand exports. Global value chains can also be a tool for developed countries to revive slow economic growth in the absence of major innovations. The paper assesses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the formation of global value chains, identifies the economic consequences and vectors of their resolution in the post-pandemic period.
