Abstract:
The article is devoted to a discussion of the religious segment in the Internet and the role of social media in the life of Muslims, as well as assessing the risks associated with the functioning of social networks for the Muslim community of Russia as a whole. The authors discuss the results of a study conducted in October – December 2020 according to the method of quantitative and qualitative content analysis of materials posted in groups, channels open to the researcher, on the personal pages of opinion leaders among the Muslim community in the social networks: Vkontakte, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube. The study takes a new approach to analyzing and evaluating social media content in terms of user reactions to certain topics. The results of the analysis made it possible to identify several topics to which Muslims react to a greater extent in social networks. The reactions of users expressed in digital traces (comments, likes / dislikes, reposts).
